Directions to Stoke Road,
Gosport, Hampshire
Portsmouth-Gosport ferry
- 3 minute journey (foot
passengers, cycles, motorbikes)
If travelling via the Portsmouth-Gosport Ferry, Stoke Road is a
15-minute walk
through the High Street (pedestrianised, opposite the Ferry Gardens) and
Walpole Road. Or taxi / bus from the ferry.
By road
Exit M27 at Junction 11
and take the A32 to Gosport. Straight ahead at the two
roundabouts at Holbrook Recreation Centre/Fort Brockhurst, following A32 signs
for Town Centre, and continue down Brockhurst Road, Forton Road, turn right into
Spring Garden Lane (Railway Inn on corner). Turn right at the end of
Spring Garden Lane. You will then be in Stoke Road. First building
on the left is no. 1, and on the right is no. 2.
If travelling from Stubbington /
Lee-on-the-Solent, go straight ahead at the roundabout at Military Road / Cocked Hat public house. Continue along Privett Road,
straight ahead at the traffic lights, past the Gosport War
Memorial Hospital on Bury Road, and continue along Bury Road. At the end of the one-way stretch
of Bury Road you will see the Welcome to Stoke Road sign.
After turning left into Stoke Road you will see, on the right-hand side, the
White Hart public house and this is no. 195. Odds on one side, evens on t'other.
Parking
There is free and convenient parking on Stoke
Road. Some sections of Stoke Road have yellow lines, but there is plenty
of parking available in the short-stay car parks if you cannot find a space on
Stoke Road.
There is a free, large, short-stay car park in
Jamaica Place, and it's easy to get to ...
1. Turn into Shaftesbury Road (between Waitrose and Rowans charity shop)
2. Then first left into Jamaica Place and the
car park is on the right
There is another, smaller, car park further down
Jamaica Place on the left hand side.
There is also a free car park in White Hart Road.
Waitrose's car park is accessed via Molesworth
Road, which is off Stoke Road, between Motor World and Tony's Fresh Fish.
