Directions to Stoke Road, Gosport, Hampshire

By road (Waitrose postcode PO12 1SD)

Exit M27 at Junction 11 and follow the A32 signs to Gosport.  After about 4 miles you will arrive at the two roundabouts at Fort Brockhurst, follow A32 signs for Town Centre, continue for about 2 miles along Brockhurst Road, Forton Road, turn right into Spring Garden Lane. Turn right at the end of Spring Garden Lane.  You will then be in Stoke Road.  First building on the left is no. 1 and on the right is no. 2.

If travelling from Stubbington / Lee-on-the-Solent, go straight ahead at the roundabout at Military Road / Cocked Hat public house.  Continue along Privett Road, straight ahead at the traffic lights, past the Gosport War Memorial Hospital on Bury Road, and continue along Bury Road.  At the end of the one-way stretch of Bury Road you will see the Welcome to Stoke Road sign.  After turning left into Stoke Road you will see, on the right-hand side, the White Hart public house (PO12 1SE) and this is no. 195.  Odds on one side, evens on t'other.


Portsmouth-Gosport ferry - 4 minute journey (foot passengers, cycles, motorbikes)

If travelling by Gosport Ferry across Portsmouth Harbour, Stoke Road is a 15-20 minute walk through the pedestrianised High Street and Walpole Road.  Or taxi/bus from the ferry


Parking
There is free and convenient parking on Stoke Road.  Some sections of Stoke Road have yellow lines and if you can't find a space on the road there is plenty of parking available in the free short-stay car parks.  There is a time restriction of one hour's parking on the road.

There is a free short-stay car park in Jamaica Place, maximum stay is 3 hours and it's easy to get to from Stoke Road:

1. Turn into Shaftesbury Road (between Waitrose and Maid to Princess)

2. Then first left into Jamaica Place and the car park is on the right

There is another, smaller, car park further down Jamaica Place on the left-hand side behind Rodney Stone's (closed for business) Art Shop, maximum stay is 3 hours.

Waitrose's customer car park is accessed via Molesworth Road, which is off Stoke Road, between Gosport Chiropractic Clinic and Vanguard Comics.
